CHAPTER 1
DIFFICULT
“Anna love, I’m thirsty. Anna, help me get up love. Anna…, “cried
Grayson softly. He tried to drag himself out of bed, feeling stabs of pain at
his spine. Wide eyed, searching for the cup of water which was placed on the
dresser a few feet from the bed. One step at a time, while holding on to the
furniture at his reach and in pain he makes his way to the dresser, then
everything suddenly turns all blurry, he fell effetely onto the floor.
“Grayson? Did you call for me?” said Anna. Her heart raced when she
saw the empty bed. “Honey?! Where are you? “, cried Anna. Cold sweat dripped
down her forehead as she makes her way into their bedroom. Suddenly, she felt
that she had step onto something. To her shocking surprised was her husband’s
finger, she quickly with all her might carried Grayson back onto the bed, fluff
up the pillows and pull the blanket up to Grayson’s chin. “Gosh Grayson! Stop
trying to get out of bed, you’d scared me to death just now “, said Anna.
Grayson looked at his wife, with a smile he said, “I’m sorry love.
Is just that I was thirsty, and I wanted a drink but you weren’t there. I just
can’t wait”. With a soft sigh, Anna replied, “It’s okay sweetie, but next time,
please wait for me”. She slowly grasped Grayson’s hand and said, “Sorry that I left
your side, somebody rang the doorbell and it turns out was the newspaper boy,
paying the money he owes us for breaking the front porch windows last Monday “.
Grayson just answered with a smile.

“Honey, sweetie, wake up, “said Anna softly. A blur image of Anna
comes together as Grayson opened his eyes after his afternoon nap. “What’s wrong
love?” asked Grayson. “It’s time for your physiotherapy appointment with Dr
Shelly’, informed Anna. “ Love, can we just cancel this one out? I just don’t
feel like going today,” whined Grayson. “Honey, we had cancelled last week’s
appointment and the week before. Dr Shelly really wants you to get better, fix
your spine, “coaxed Anna while looking at herself in the mirror, fiddling with
the rubber band tying up her long hazel hair.
“What’s the use love? I’m losing my ability to walk. Day by day,
nothing Dr Shelly did help and I’m losing hope walking again”, cried Grayson. “I
don’t”, said Anna. “I’m not going to stop trying until you get back up you feet
and walk again. You are my husband and I have faith in you “. Anna’s eyes
twinkles as she said those words which send Grayson down to tears. Both of them
hug and hoping for a miracle.

2
YEARS AGO
“Honey, do you know that we are late to your parent’s anniversary
celebration”, said Anna while fiddling with the seat belt. “Love, they are my
parents. They know me so well for being late since pre schooling days”, said
Grayson with a grin.
“Whatever then, honey”, smirked Anna. Their escalade cruised on the
road until they meet a stop at the junction. “Love, you look beautiful today.
Just like the day I married you, “whispered Grayson. With Anna’s cheek began to
blush, she replied, “you’re not so bad yourself honey, just like the day I first
have a crush on you”. “Oh really? When was that love?” questioned Grayson.
“Well, it was during …” suddenly both of them heard a screeching
noise from a large truck heading towards them.
“Grayson! Anna! “
